Northborough – With the recent opening of Northborough Crossing, officials are expecting an increase in traffic through the town. To accommodate the additional flow, there is another major project on the docket that commuters and residents will need to contend with in the not-so-distant future – a reconstruction of the downtown area. The undertaking aims to alleviate the traffic bottleneck that often occurs at the intersection of routes 20 and 135.
The project, which is slated to start in early spring, will cause some delays and detours, officials acknowledge. But they also hope that once complete, traffic flow will be much smoother to and from the Crossing, and throughout the entire town.
