Region – Singers in grades three through12 who enjoy singing in a group are encouraged to join Pro Musica Youth Chorus as it resumes rehearsals Monday, Sept. 19 at Hudson High School's Chorus Room, (C110) 69 Brigham St., Hudson. Regular Monday evening rehearsals begin at 6:30 p.m.

These young musicians develop their voices and learn an enjoyable, but challenging, mix of American, folk, multicultural and classical pieces. There is a registration fee for this activity, with some financial aid available.

The chorus, under the direction of Jan Patterson, will practice songs in preparation for several planned concerts. First formed in1987 to accompany Symphony Pro Musica in the opera “Hansel and Gretel,” the chorus has performed in many concerts with the symphony including productions of “Carmen,” “La Boheme,” and “La Fiesta de La Posada,” an annual spring concert and by request for many community groups.

This is a unique opportunity provided for young singers to develop musicianship with other young people who enjoy group singing. The Youth Chorus will join the River's Edge Community Band and Chorale for the Holiday Concert Saturday, Dec. 10 and will be celebrating its 25th anniversary this season with a spring concert in which former members will be invited to participate.
