South Yarmouth – Norma M. (Schulze) Sieurin, 90, passed away at home Sunday October 16, 2011 after a long illness.
Born in Needham and raised in Northborough until her sophomore year in high school, she then moved to Shrewsbury, where she graduated from high school in 1939.
She leaves her husband of 68 years, Donald Sieurin; a brother, Robert Schulze of Whitinville; two children, Cynthia (Sieurin) Ducharme of South Yarmouth and Peter Sieurin of Northborough; four grandchildren, Andrew Sieurin, Timothy Sieurin, Christopher Lemos and Michael Ducharme.
She and her husband were married Dec. 8, 1943 in Denver. After World War II, they settled in Northborough, where they lived until Mr. Sieurin retired. They moved to East Dennis and later to South Yarmouth.
Mrs. Sieurin worked for the Northborough Public Schools for 18 years as a school secretary – a job she truly loved. She was very active in the town PTA and served as its president for one year. She was also very involved in her church, the Church of Nativity in Northborough. She was one of its founding members.
She was tremendously devoted to her children and grandchildren – a wonderful, kind, loving mother and grandmother.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 12 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private.
