Hudson – The Board of Selectmen approved three business licenses and four contracts totaling $74,500 at their Oct. 17 meeting.
The board approved the issuance of a Common Victualler's License to Xing Qi Zhao for the Sakura Restaurant at 12 Broad Street. According to the application, the only change will be in ownership; the establishment will not change its capacity or hours of operation. No renovations are scheduled to take place at this time, although the kitchen may be expanded at a future date to accommodate a larger and more diverse menu.
The board approved taxi driving licenses for Serge Beaudoin and John Kelley driving for Sunset Taxi. Selectmen passed over the application for a hackney's license to Shawn Clark, who was not present at the meeting.
Approving change order #6, the selectmen authorized payment of $438.75 to Coulter Construction of Billerica for the replacement of the solar shade in the computer area. The order also extends the Library Window Project completion date from Sept. 30 to Nov. 30.
The board approved change order #1 with Albanese D&S Inc., of Dracut which included a payment of nearly $62,750 for additional work on the Sewer Main Installation of the Rolling Lane Project. The additional cost was due to piping problems that were found while work was being done on the project. Repairs on the Solo Road sewer pump station generator was approved with a low quote of $11,620 from Bigelow Electric of Worcester.
In other business, the selectmen signed Estimate Orders of Betterment for the installation of sewer mains on Brigham Street, Four Bridges Road, Rolling Lane, Rathbun Road, River Road, and Chapin Road.
