Shrewsbury Historical Society to host Civil War veterans program

Shrewsbury – “Remembering Shrewsbury's Civil War Veterans” will be presented Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m., at the 1830 Brick Schoolhouse on the Shrewsbury Town Common.

Join the historical society as it commemorates the sesquicentennial of the Civil War and recognizes Shrewsbury's Civil War veterans. Many of the names of these brave soldiers are inscribed on the 1869 Civil War Monument located on the town common. Curators Linda and Lauren Davis will share the stories of these veterans and then attendees are invited to view the Society's display of Civil War artifacts.

This program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. To find out more about the Shrewsbury Historical Society, visit
