Standing together against bullying
Northborough – Runners start the second annual “Northborough Stands Together Against Bullying” 5K Run/Walk, held Oct. 1, beginning and ending at Melican Middle School. Finishing first overall in 18:42 was Matt Bergiel, a nephew of Principal Patricia Montimurro. Alexandria Madamba, a seventh-grader at Melican School, finished in 21:10 and was named the first-place female for the second year. About 100 runners and walkers ranging in age from 7 to 62 participated. Organized by Northborough Recreation and Melican School, the event raised funds for bullying prevention programs for middle school students.
