Fund-raiser goes to the dogs
Shrewsbury – Nearly 180 runners, many with dogs, start the Pups for Paton's Playground 5K Race and One-Mile Fun Run, held Oct. 9, beginning and ending at Oak Middle School. Finishing first overall in 19:53 in the 5K race was Taryn Sleger with her dog, Winny. Finishing first in the untimed fun run was Ashley Durkin with her dog, Hershey. Proceeds will go to a new playground for Paton Elementary School. The former playground was demolished when inspectors determined it was no longer safe.
