495/Metrowest Planning Study public forums to be held Nov. 9 and 15Hudson/Region – Public forums on the 495/Metrowest Planning Study will be held Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. (an Open House will be held from 6 to 7 p.m.) at Union Station, Union Hall, 2nd floor, Worcester, and Tuesday, Nov. 15, from 7 to 9 p.m. (Open House from 6 to 7 p.m.) at Framingham Town Hall, Nevins Hall, 150 Concord St., Framingham.

The 495/Metrowest Compact is a regional planning study aimed at identifying priority development and preservation areas and significant transportation and infrastructure investments within Hudson and the surrounding 495/MetroWest region.

The plan is being prepared in collaboration with regional and local participants and is engaged to form the framework for public decision-making in land use regulation and infrastructure investment within the region over the next twenty years. The compact is intended to create a shared framework for developing state, regional and local strategies for the growth, development and land preservation in the 37 cities and towns within the study area.

Through a local public meeting at Town Hall in spring 2011 to regional public forums in summer 2011, input was gathered on priorities for development, preservation, transportation and infrastructure needs. That input was the foundation for the comprehensive study, a regional vision intended to guide the investment of both public and private sector resources in the future.

At either presentation, learn more about the vision for the 495/MetroWest region. See maps and other information to help plan for the future. Hear perspectives from a panel of experts in conservation, transportation, local government and private sector development.

Those interested in attending either forum should RSVP to [email protected].
