Westborough – Virginia Bulger Shaw, 99, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011 in Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center of Westborough.

Mrs. Shaw was employed as a school teacher in Malden. Several years after starting her family, she began teaching in the Bellingham School system, retiring in 1977.

She was born October 9, 1912 in Watertown, daughter of the late Charles and Nettie Bulger. She was a graduate of Malden High School, class of 1929, and had attended Bridgewater State Teachers College. She was a former member of the Milford Hospital Ladies Aid.

She is survived by one daughter, Charlene S.Corey and her husband Donald of Stow, and two nieces, Charlotte Harlan of Reading and Leslie Astbury of Hampden, Maine. She was predeceased by her former husband, the late Judge Gordon A. Shaw, and three sisters, Leone Bulger, Pauline Carver and Madolyn Bulger.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. The Buma Funeral Home of Milford is assisting the family.
