Northborough – Elaine M. (Davis) Priest, 68, died peacefully Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011 in her home. Her husband, James H. Priest II, died in April of this year.
She leaves her beloved daughter, Jayne Weakley and her husband Jeff of Chester, N.H; three sons, John Priest and his wife Ellenore of Dartmouth, James Priest III and his wife Ellen of Northborough, and Christopher Priest and his wife Marybeth of Hudson; seven grandchildren, Jordan, Shane, Cameron, Janelle, Bailey, Patrick, and Ava Rose; and cousins, nieces and nephews. One of 10 children, her siblings are Walter, Bill, June, Norman, Linda, Ricky, Lorna, Roy and Rhonda.
A 1960 graduate of Somerville High School, Mrs. Priest worked for the former Country Candle in Northborough in the 1960s until the 1980s, when she worked for the town of Northborough in the Tax Collector's office. She then worked 10 years for the town of Hopkinton before retiring in 2004.
She enjoyed vacationing in Aruba, her and her husband's “second home,” and was a member of St. Bernadette Church. She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed ceramics, cooking, hosting and entertaining. She especially loved spending time with her family.
Calling hours will be held Monday, Nov. 14, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. Her funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 10 a.m., at St. Bernadette Church, 266 Main St., Northborough. Burial will follow at Howard Street Cemetery.
