NSPAC meets Dec. 8 for “Basic Rights in Special Education”Northborough/Southborough – Northborough/Southborough Special Education Parents Advisory Council (NSPAC) will Thursday, Dec. 8, from 7 to 9 p.m., in Room B-124 at Algonquin Regional High School, 79 Bartlett St. (use main rotunda entrance and follow signs), Northborough. The meeting will focus on “Basic Rights in Special Education.”

Presented by Elaine Rabbitt from the Federation for Children with Special Needs, the Basic Rights workshop provides families with an introduction to their rights and responsibilities under Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Massachusetts Special Education Law and, No Child Left Behind (NCLB).

The workshop is designed to help parents/guardians learn to be effective partners with their child's school to decide their child's eligibility for special education, and to plan, make decisions and monitor their child's progress in school.
