Hudson – Constantina (Cabral) Barrigas, 88, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011 at Autumn Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Worcester. She was the beloved wife of 50-plus years to the late Bernardino Barrigas.
Born and raised in St. Michael, the Azores of Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Margarida (Sousa) Cabral. She resided in Attleboro for a short time, but had lived in Hudson for the most part of the last 43 years.
Mrs. Barrigas was employed as an assembler for several local companies, including Hudson Lock Co. and New England Tape Co., both of Hudson. She was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson and enjoyed reading and crocheting in her spare time.
She is survived by her four children, Lucia Silva of Hudson, Lora Cardoso of Brazil, Sandy Dias of West Boylston and Bernardino Barrigas of Chicago. She is also survived by her two sisters, Angelina Botelho and Abelina Cabral, both of Hudson; her 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Nov. 22, at 11 a.m., in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery of Hudson. Calling hours will be held Monday, Nov. 21, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc., 50 Central St., Hudson, MA 01749.
