Alice P. SteinMarlborough – Alice Pauline (St. Hilaire) Stein of New Horizons and formerly of Feeding Hills, Pittsburgh, and Auburn, Maine, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011, after a long illness. She was the loving and devoted wife of the late Felix Ludwig Stein.

Born in Stewartstown, N.H., she was the daughter of the late Eva (Chabot) St. Hilaire of Uxbridge and Charles St. Hilaire of Plessissvile, Quebec.

Mrs. Stein loved traveling the world, exercising, socializing and decorating her home. She excelled in sewing, gardening and playing pool.

She was the loving mother of Monica Eva (Stein) Picarella of Sudbury and Edith Marie Stein of Westfield and beloved grandmother of Gabrielle Mari-Alyssa and Alexander Felix Picarella, both of Sudbury. She leaves her sister, Claire Antoinette St. Hilaire of Boston; two “adopted” family members, Kathlyn Lino of Boston and Dorothy Skeels of Andover, N.H.; her son-in-law, Dominic E. Picarella; three caring nieces and their families, Carol Ann Grape of Denver, Cathy Marie Grape of San Jose, Calif., and Caroline Nason Mitchell of Red Wood City, Calif.; and countless others who were blessed to have known her. She was the sister of the late Theresa Marie (St. Hilaire) Grape, her oldest sister.

A funeral Mass will be held Monday, Dec. 5, at 10 a.m., at the Good Shepherd Chapel, 400 Hemenway St., Marlborough. There are no calling hours. Private burial alongside her husband will be held at a later date.
