southboroSouthborough – The Board of Selectmen has given the ‘Swap Shop’ located at the town's Transfer Station a reprieve. Karen Galligan, the superintendent of the Department of Public Works, had wanted to close the shop due to safety concerns, especially pertaining to parking. The shop was due to close on Dec. 1.

After a number of residents registered complaints with the Board of Selectmen, the board has agreed to keep the shop open until Jan. 7. The matter will be taken up with the board at its meeting on Jan. 3.
