Northborough – “I thought Christmas was for children … I was not expecting the day to be special for me … I was so moved to be remembered…”

These were the sentiments of one area senior when she opened her door to the outreach worker from the Northborough Senior Center to receive a holiday gift.

This year the Northborough Council on Aging, in conjunction with Central One Federal Credit Union of Northborough and Home Instead Senior Care will be coordinating another gift drive for area seniors who otherwise might not be remembered during the holidays.

Central One Federal Credit Union at 148 Main St. in Northborough has set up a holiday tree containing ornament tags. Each tag lists an item needed by an area senior. The public is asked to select a tag and return the unwrapped item along with the tag to the bank by Friday, Dec. 9.

The Council on Aging will transport the gifts to the Northborough Senior Center, where a gift-wrapping party is set for Tuesday, Dec. 13, from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

To help area seniors, visit the bank to select a tag (available until Dec. 9) and attend the wrapping party on Dec. 13.
