Hudson – Carolyn R. (Swanson) Beland, 81, of River Road, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Olaf J. and Daisy M. Swanson.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Rene M. Beland; her daughter, Renee Medeiros and her husband John of Worcester; her son, Scott McCarthy and his wife Gabriele of New Salem; her daughter, Paula Richardson and her husband Mark of Paxton; and her grandson, Stephen S. Richardson of Dunstable. She also leaves her stepchildren, Nancy Williams of Charlton and Michael Belandof Maine, and their families. Her sister, Martha Bell of Ohio, predeceased her.
Mrs. Beland was thoughtful and generous, and deeply loved by her family and many friends. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
The family wishes to thank the staff in the Critical Care Unit at U- Mass Memorial Hospital in Worcester for their exceptional care and kindness during the final hours of Mrs. Beland's life.
Nordgren Memorial Chapel of Worcester assisted the family with arrangements, which were private.
