Edward A. Pessolano, 88Canterbury, N.H. – Edward A. Pessolano, 88, formerly a longtime resident of Southborough, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011. He was the husband of Josephine F. (Lye) Pessolano for over 64 years.

Born in Marlborough, he was the son of the late Anthony and Vita (Martucci) Pessolano and a World War II Army veteran, serving in the ETO. He landed in Normandy after the initial invasion, ending with occupation duty in Germany. When General Patton made his famous run into Belgium during the Battle of the Bulge, he was one of the many also making the historic run.

Upon his discharge, Mr. Pessolano worked in various machine shops and retired as a supervisor for Fenwal Electronics. He was a member of St. Bernard's Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, serving as District Deputy Grand Secretary, and was active in the Southborough Rod and Gun Club. He and his wife loved to travel and especially enjoyed cruises.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Michael Pessolano and his wife Janet of Canterbury, N.H.; nine granddaughters; one grandson; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, Dec. 9, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., at the Morris Funeral Home (www.morrisfuneralparlor.com), 40 Main St., Southborough. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. at St. Mark's Church, 27 Main St., Southborough. Burial will follow in the Southborough Rural Cemetery.
