Wellspring United Methodist Church holds Blue Christmas Service Dec. 17Shrewsbury – Wellspring United Methodist Church has announced it will hold a Blue Christmas Service Saturday, Dec. 17, at 5 p.m. The service will be held in Lawrence Hall at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 440 Main St., Shrewsbury. A free soup and bread meal will be served from 5 to 6 p.m., with the service starting at 6 p.m.

The special worship service will feature prayers, Scriptures and music for those who mourn and struggle this holiday season.

According to Pastor Jennie Thrash-Crichlow, this season is not one of joy for many people, but one in which recent losses seem more intense; those who have endured long periods of unemployment or physical hardship find it hard to find reasons to celebrate. The Blue Christmas Service is designed to help people refocus and help each other find God's presence even when life itself seems overwhelming.

Wellspring United Methodist Church is a young and growing community of faith serving Shrewsbury, Northborough and the surrounding area. The congregation meets Sunday mornings for worship, nursery, and children's Sunday School at the Trinity Episcopal Church. For more information, call 1-508-842-4665.
