Marlborough – Leonora (Braica) West, 79, passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011 following a short illness. She was the beloved wife of Clarence West Jr., with whom she shared 58 wonderful years of marriage.
She was born in Marlborough, the daughter of the late Joseph and Rita (Lodi) Braica, she was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mrs. West worked for the Marlborough public school system for many years in many different jobs. She was a long-time member of the former Saint Ann's Parish and enjoyed many trips with its travel club. Her greatest joy though was spending time with her family.
She is survived by one son, Michael West and his fiancé Gail of Leominster; two daughters, Helen Smith and her husband Robert of Marlborough and Rita Fauller of Marlborough; six grandchildren, Michelle, Michael and his fiancé Ericka, Stacey, Brian,
Patrick and Kaitlin; five great-grandchildren, Alexis, Justina, Tyler, Blake and Shane; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Rose Langelier.
Her funeral will be held Friday, Dec. 16, at 10 a.m., in the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home (www.shortfuneral.com), 95 West Main St. Marlborough. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held Thursday, Dec. 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will
follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
