After conducting a search, she was chosen from a pool of close to 30 highly qualified applicants.

“The board is very excited to have Lynne join the Arts Alliance,” expressed Board President Michelle Mercier. “Lynne embodies a high level of professionalism and commitment to the arts and this community. She brings so much to the table and we are thrilled to work with her to lead the Arts Alliance into a creatively brilliant and sustainable future.”

Johnson is also excited for the chance to bring her years of knowledge back to the community she calls home.

“I am honored to take on the role of Executive Director of the Arts Alliance,” she said. “Having been a long time champion for the arts in our community through artistic work in the schools and with the Arts Alliance, I feel it's a natural progression for me to take on this role.

“I have been totally immersed in building educational arts programming in the Boston area through my work with the Huntington Theatre Company for the past several years, and I am excited to be able to share the knowledge and expertise I’ve acquired through my invaluable experiences there with our own community through the arts. My hope is to firmly carry the torch Jan Patterson has lit in our community and to keep it shining for many years to come.”

Johnson's role as Executive Director will begin on the first of the year.
