Marlborough – Estella M. (Gray) MacLeod, 100, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2011 at Wingate at Sudbury. She had been the wife of the late Gordon MacLeod, who died in 1998.

Born in Waltham and a resident of Marlborough since 1949, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Elizabeth (Porter) Gray.

Following her graduation from Waltham High School in 1929, Mrs. MacLeod began working for the Guild for the Hard of Hearing in Boston as a social worker. She later worked for the late Dr. Kendall Stephenson in Marlborough as a secretary and receptionist, retiring in 1980.

She was a longtime, active member of the First United Methodist Church of Marlborough and the Genealogy Society of Massachusetts and published author of the “Descendants of Mary, Patrick and Cormick Gray.”

She is survived by her daughters, Bette Johnson and her husband Russell of Shelburne Falls and Priscilla Dalamangas and her husband Leo of Marlborough; her grandchildren, Dr. Sara Dalamangas and her husband Jeffrey Moss, Emily Dalamangas, Matthew Johnson and his wife Jennifer, and Jennifer Heilman and her husband Jay; and her great-grandchildren, Colton and Tessa Johnson and Areia and Owen Heilman. She was also the sister of the late Elden Gray.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, Dec. 21, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 12 p.m. at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery of Cochituate.
