Nathan, you had a terrific career for the Aztecs, setting the school rushing record in the process. What memories stand out?
“My favorite memory has been this past year. Being able to win the league title and making it to the Super Bowl were great experiences. And I'sl always remember practicing every day with my friends.”
What was it like to compete in the Super Bowl? Were you upset by the result?
“It was amazing being able to play in the Super Bowl. That was our goal all year – to make it and to win. Of course losing hurt a lot, but it was still a great experience just making it that far.”
Which of your teammates have helped you the most?
“The offensive line definitely meant the most to my success. They were solid all year, and luckily they were able to stay healthy too.”
Who do you expect will take your spot as the leader(s) of next year's team?
“I think that Paul Harpin will step up after having a great year this past season. Jeremy LeBlanc will be the only returning starter on the offensive line, so he'sl be a leader, and Arthur Oliveira is going to be great on defense.”
Which coach has most helped you mature as a football player?
“All the coaches have done a lot for me throughout my time at Assabet. Obviously our head coach [Robert] McCann has been a great role model for me, on and off the field, but all the coaches are great people, and I'sl miss them all a lot.”
Do you want to play football in college? Any schools in particular?
“Right now, I's not sure if I want to play in college. But some schools I'se had in mind are Worcester State, Fitchburg State, Endicott and a few others.”
What is your favorite professional football team? Who is your favorite player?
“My favorite team is the Patriots. I's a big fan of [Denver's] Tim Tebow and [Houston's] Arian Foster.”
What do you want your legacy to be as a football player at Assabet? Do you think you'se achieved that?
“I was able to set the single-season rushing record at Assabet, as well as broke the all-time rushing record, so I hope those records will remain, at least for a little while. I also hope to be remembered by my teammates and coaches as a good leader and good teammate, and I think that will be the case.”
