A community says “Thanks!”Westborough – After over two decades in town government, the last 11 of those as a selectman, Lydia Goldblatt has announced that she will not seek another term.

“It has been an honor and privilege to serve the town,” she said. “I have gotten so many calls and emails from people thanking me. But my father always told me, “You'se got to leave when people still want you to stay.””

Goldblatt currently is the director of Constituent Services and the deputy state director for U.S. Sen. Scott Brown, R, who is up for re-election in 2012. She has also held high-ranking positions in former Gov. (and current candidate for president) Mitt Romney's administration. Depending on the results of the 2012 election, she may have some interesting options to pursue.
