Westborough – MetroWest Medical Center will be hosting a January community blood drive at Porter and Chester Institute. Donations can help as many as four adults and 10 newborns. All blood donated at this drive will stay in the local community, neighbors helping neighbors.
The blood drive will be held Thursday, Jan. 5, from 1 to 6 p.m., in the Medical Lab the Porter and Chester Institute, 80 Turnpike Rd., Westborough.
In order to donate blood, the donor must be in good health, at least 16 years old, weighing a minimum of 130 pounds (with parental/guardian consent) or at least 17 years old, weighing a minimum of 110 pounds, and must not have had a tattoo or body piercing within the past 12 months.
The event is open to the public and all surrounding towns. Residents interested in donating can sign up at www.iwilldonateblood.com.
