Shrewsbury – Shrewsbury Pop Warner Football and Cheerleading has announced that its Unlimited Weight football team is the 2011 Division 1 Central Mass Regional runner-up.

The Colonials, coached by Mike Cooney, finished the regular season with a 3-1 division record and a 6-4 overall record. After that, a win over the Winchendon Wolverines, 26-14, put the team into the regional playoffs. A subsequent win over the Boston Raiders gave the Colonials a slot in the Central Mass Championship game against the number-one ranked Worcester Vikings.

The Colonials fell short in that game, 12-0, at Auburn High School.
