Marlborough musicians selected for district concertsMarlborough – The Marlborough High School Music Department has announced the 2011-2012 Central District Music Senior Festival results. The following students auditioned and scored at a level that qualifies them to participate in the District workshop and to perform Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 in Worcester's Mechanics Hall with other area high school students.

Marlborough High School Orchestra members include Christopher Syers on trombone and Gregory Konar on string bass. The chorus members are Katheryn Hermann – soprano, Rachel Koester – soprano, Eva Kotsopoulos – alto, Sarah Symes – alto, Clarissa Rodriguez – alto, Alessandra Russo – alto, John Maenhout – tenor, Johnny Zompetti – tenor, Bruce Bausk – bass, David Blake – bass, Connor Bowen – bass and Brian Stangle – bass.

Representing the jazz ensemble will be Brian McCarthy on trombone, Steve Wagner on trombone, Lucas Allen on guitar and Mark Studer on percussion. Performing with the band will be Andrea Boxell on flute, Rachel Dass on clarinet, Kayleigh Fay on clarinet, Taylor Terrasi on alto saxophone, Emily Whapham on alto saxophone, Alexa Fearing on euphonium and Joe Babcock on percussion.

The students with an All-State recommendation who will audition at the state level Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012 are Christopher Syers, Katheryn Hermann, Rachel Koester, Eva Kotsopoulos, Alessandra Russo, John Maenhout, Johnny Zompetti, David Blake, Brian Stangle, Brian McCarthy, Steve Wagner, Lucas Allen, Mark Studer, Rachel Dass, Kayleigh Fay, Taylor Terrasi, Alexa Fearing and Joe Babcock.
