Hanover, N.H. – Phyllis M. (Rousseau) Chenard, 90, formerly a longtime resident of Southborough, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2012 after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Roland A. Chenard, who passed away in 1984.
She was a 1939 graduate of Framingham High School and worked for many years at the Correctional Facility at Sherborn as a secretary. She was an avid swimmer and enjoyed walking. She was a member of the Southborough Senior Citizens; the former Southborough Women's Club; and Southborough Senior Chorus.
Mrs. Chenard is survived by her children, Jennifer Fontaine and her husband Arthur of Southport, N.C., Renee Russell and her husband Daniel of White River Junction, Vt., and Roland J. Chenard of Hopkinton; six grandchildren, Jason and Seth Dunnet, Marc Fontaine, Buffy Constantine, Carrie LeCompte, and Joe and Jennie Russell; four great-grandchildren, Emma, Eli and Oliver Dunnet, Brooke Constantine, and Oliver; and five sisters, Edna Carr, Pauline LaForce, Kate Sveneson, Theresa Crowley and Jeanne Taylor of Hopkinton.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, Jan. 6, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Southborough. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home and burial will be held in the Southborough Rural Cemetery.
