Southborough – Richard E. “Dick” Thompson 75, formerly of Mt. Prospect and Park Ridge, Ill., died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012.
He was the beloved husband of Peggy (Rafter) Thompson; devoted father of Ryan, Scott, Sean and Megan Thompson of Southborough, Jean (Michael) O’Shea and her husband Micheal of Park Ridge, Ill., and Ken and Karen Thompson of Chicago; grandfather of Olivia Thompson and Griffin, Genevieve and Connor O’Shea; brother of George (Sharon) Thompson of Barrington, Ill.; and nephew of Barbara Bowen of Elk Grove Village, Ill.
Son of the late Clifford E. and Genevieve (Kaiser) Thompson of Mt. Prospect and Park Ridge, Ill., he was an Army veteran and the owner of a family business, Thompson's Finer Foods, of Park Ridge, Ill., until it closed in 1996 and the family moved to Massachusetts.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, Jan. 12, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Southborough. A Mass of resurrection will be held Friday, Jan. 13, at 10 a.m., at St. Anne Church, 20 Boston Rd., Southborough.
