Templeton /Northborough – Shirley A. (McGrath) Denoncourtt, 77, of Templeton, formerly of Northborough, died at home Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, surrounded by her loving family, after a long illness.
She leaves her devoted husband of 59 years, Robert Denoncourt; four loving daughters, Denise McCartney of Phillipston, Christine Giroux of Lempster, N.H., Patricia Vehmeyer of Jacksonville, Fla. and Sharon Flanders of Northborough; and one loving son, Robert J. Denoncourt of Baldwinville. Mrs. Denoncourt also leaves 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers and one sister.
Born in Worcester, daughter of Harold and Wilhelmina (Peterson) McGrath, she lived many years in Northborough before moving to Templeton in 1989. She graduated from Northborough High School in 1952.
Mrs. Denoncourt was an active member of Holy Cross Church in Templeton, enjoyed cooking and lived her life for her children and grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Jan. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. (Route 20) Northborough. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, January 11th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bernadette Church, 266 Main St., Northborough. Burial will follow in Howard Street Cemetery of Northborough.
