Southborough – Despite its proximity to the major highway routes 9 and 495, Southborough has never achieved the same degree of business success as its fellow boroughs (Marlborough, Northborough and Westborough). But with the recent formation of the Southborough Economic Development team, this group of residents and business executives is hoping to make that change. The team recently released a 15-page guide that highlights “positives” such as the town's history, its highly educated populace and its convenient proximity to Boston. Future plans include working with local officials in an effort to streamline the permitting process for businesses looking to locate to the town.
