Shrewsbury – Claire R. Berthiaume, 86, died peacefully at home Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 peacefully.
She is survived by several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two sisters, G. Rubia Poirier and Yvette G. Bagley.
Born Sept. 6, 1925, the daughter of Arthur E. and Gertrude (Giroux) Berthiaume, she had lived in Shrewsbury for the past 30 years. She was a teacher in the Northbridge school system before becoming a department head in the Framingham School system for 20 years.
Ms. Berthiaume was a member of St. Mary's Church in Uxbridge and St. Anne's Church in Shrewsbury. She was a member of the MA Teachers Association, the National Teachers Association, and the Framingham Teachers Association. She also enjoyed traveling and reading.
Her funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 11 a.m., in St. Mary's Church, 71 Mendon St., Uxbridge. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
