Gymnastics teams flying high
Region – Shrewsbury High School's (SHS) Megan Yuen leaps on the balance beam during a quad meet at Algonquin Regional High School (ARHS) in Northborough Jan 7. Yuen scored 8.8.
ARHS, the defending state girls gymnastics champions, hosted a quad meet with Shrewsbury, Wachusett and Hudson participating. Each team competed in the vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercises. The final team scores were Wachusett – 112.3, Hudson – 129.8, SHS – 134.6 and ARHS winning with 139.55.
In conjunction with the competition, ARHS also hosted the inaugural “Kids Celebrate Life Classic” gymnastics event, which raises money for the Children's Miracle Network.
