Marlborough – The Red Sox are hitting the road to get ready for a new season, and the 2012 Red Sox Road Trip will be traveling throughout New England, making stops in all six states and delivering regular season ticket vouchers to fans prior to general on-sale tickets.

Fans can expect a lot of baseball activity, including distribution of purchased vouchers for pre-sale, Red Sox-themed promotional giveaways, Red Sox historical artifacts on display, and 2004 World Series Trophy on display. Also, there will be the opportunity to purchase the Fenway Park 100th Anniversary Official, Definitive Coffee Table Book or Wally the Green Monster books; purchase Red Sox Nation and Kid Nation memberships; enjoy face painting and a balloon artist; and see Wally the Green Monster as he makes a special guest appearance.

As part of the “Sing Your Way to Fenway” National Anthem contest, contestants will have a chance to sing the National Anthem at a regular season game in 2012. One lucky winner will be selected at the end of the event for a chance to sing at Fenway.

The Red Sox Road Trip will take place Sunday, Jan. 22, from noon to 6 p.m., in the Ann Taylor court at Solomon Pond Mall, 601 Donald Lynch Blvd., Marlborough.
