Fay Discovery Summer Day Camp holds open house Feb. 4

Come learn about Fay Discovery Summer Day Camp, a dynamic, hands-on program for children entering pre-kindergarten through grade 9. An open house will be held Saturday, Feb. 4, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The program provides campers and students with an engaging and nurturing atmosphere that encourages exploration, creativity and lasting connections among children and adults. Campers have the opportunity to choose activities that interest them for each segment of the day, and can further personalize their camp days with specialty workshops, which provide half-day adventures in the arts, the outdoors, and educational enrichment. Learn how to heat things up in the kitchen during a Winter Stews and Chilis workshop Wednesday, Feb. 8, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., at Culinary Underground School for Home Cooks. In this class, students will travel around the globe and experience some unique flavors in these one pot masterpieces. The menu may include beef en daube, spicy chorizo and pinto bean chili, and colorful Moroccan tagine with harissa. The cost is $75 and reservations are required.
