Marlborough– Cynthia J. “Cindy” (Woodworth) Golgata, 65, died unexpectedly at her home Monday morning, Feb. 6, 2012. She was the wife of Richard Golgata, to whom she was married for 44 years.

Born in Marlborough, the daughter of the late Carson and Marguerite (King) Woodworth, she had lived in Marlborough all of her life.

Throughout her life, Mrs. Golgata worked in many different jobs for many different companies in the area. Along with her husband, she was a longtime member of the Marlborough Fish and Game, an avid reader especially of mystery novels, and enjoyed baking. Her greatest love, though, was spending time with her family and friends.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Keith Golgata and his wife Amanda and Stephen Golgata and his wife Catherine, all of Tennessee; one daughter,Christina Golgata of Marlborough; one brother, Carson Woodworth Jr. of Marlborough; three sisters, Susan Roberts of Connecticut, Shirley Dennis of Hudson, and Carol Fiola of Michigan; one granddaughter, Sierra; and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m., in the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home,95 West Main St., Marlborough. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held Wednesday evening, from 4 to 7 p.m., prior to the service.
