Shrewsbury– The Shrewsbury Public Library has announced its adult programs for the month of February, including the Foreign Film Fesitval, Cooking for Men Only, Adult Story Hour, and more.
The Foreign Festival continues Feb. 12, 19, and 26 at 2 p.m. Call the Library for details. Cooking for Men Only will be held Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. Okay, guys! Feb. 11, at 2 p.m., m Meet the authors of a new book of local history.Christopher Sawyer and Patricia A. Wolf will speak about their new book, “Denholms: The Story of Worcester's Premier Department Store.” Anyone who remembers the store will love the book, and anyone interested in the history of the area will enjoy the presentation. There will be copies of the book available.
An Adult Story Hour will be held Sunday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. Join in for the library's first story hour for adults. In the bleakest part of the year, it's time to nourish the child within each of us. You’ll hear a story (or two) to warm even the coldest of hearts! Open to all adults, there is no charge and refreshments will be served. The Eclectic Browsers” Book Group meets Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 10:30 a.m. to discuss Andrew Greeley's “The Bishop at theLake.” All are welcome and refreshments provided. Books will be available at the circulation desk one month prior to the meeting. Also Feb. 22, meet author John Hench, who will speak at 7 p.m. about his book, “Books as Weapons: Propaganda, Publishing, and theBattlefor Global Markets in the Era of World War II.” Snow date is Feb. 29.
Finally, the Shrewsbury Genealogy Club meets Monday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. The regular monthly meeting is for anyone interested in genealogy and family history. No previous experience needed, no dues, and no further commitment! Residents from other towns are welcome to join.
