Westborough – Candidates for elective office in the town of Westborough will take part in a Candidates Forum to be sponsored by the Westborough Democratic Town Committee. The annual event is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 26, 3 p.m,. at the Willows, 1 Lyman St. Candidates for selectmen, School Committee, Planning Board, Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School Committee and the Board of Library Trustees have all been invited to participate.
Kate Donaghue is the chair of the sponsoring group.
“This is a great opportunity to hear from those candidates seeking your vote in March and to ask questions of the candidates,” she said. “Most candidates are planning to take part. We very much appreciate the citizens who serve the town so generously and who take the time meet with voters at Candidates Night.”
The Democratic Committee sponsors this event annually as a service to the town and to encourage voters to become participants in the election process.
“Democracy is not a spectator sport,” noted Donaghue.
Candidates for selectmen include George Barrette, Denzil Drewry and Andrew Reinach for two positions on the board. Nicole Sullivan is a candidate for School Committee. Brian Bush is a candidate for Planning Board. Paul George is a candidate for Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School Committee. Karen Fay, James Holmes and Carolyn Spring are all candidates for the Board of Library Trustees.
