Region – The Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest invites you to support the “No Show Ball” by not attending. That's right. Go online and purchase “virtual tickets” for only $5 to an event that will not be taking place. All the proceeds will go toward the development of children in the Metrowest community and not towards an extravagant fundraising event. The event itself will not take place Sunday, April 1 – April Fool's Day.
Fran Hurley, president of the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest explained, “Our goal is to get 1,000 people to each purchase $5 virtual tickets….and then stay at home. As a no show, supporters will be ensuring that 100 percent of all funds we raise go directly to support our programs at the club.”
The 2012 No Show Ball is the MetroWest organization's newest fundraising event, where supporters are asked to stay at home or make reservations for dinner at a favorite restaurant, in short, do anything except attend the event. Virtual tickets can be purchased Feb. 1 through April 1 online at www.bgcmetrowest.org.
Invite friends, family and colleagues because the more “no shows,” the better.
