Northborough – Daniel Joseph Scott Jr., 20, passed away suddenly Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012.
He leaves behind his parents, Daniel J. Sr. and Joan Baker Scott; his sister, Christina Scott of Northborough; his maternal grandmother, Kathryn Baker of Rochester, New York; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Born in Newton and raised in Northborough, he graduated from Algonquin Regional High School in 2010. While working at Jay's Landscaping of Southborough, he was attending Quinsigamond Community College studying to be a firefighter/ EMT.
Mr. Scott was an active member in his church, St. Rose of Lima, where he was a drummer in the youth band and in the play Godspell in 2010, and played on the CYO basketball and volleyball teams. He was an avid freshwater bass fisherman and especially enjoyed fishing on the Cape during family summer vacations.
Calling hours will be held Monday, Feb. 13, from 4 to 7 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. His funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 10 a.m., in St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main St., Northborough. Burial will follow in Howard Street Cemetery.
