Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services Gala honors outstanding residents

Shrewsbury – Gathered at the Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services (SYFS) eighth annual Gala Celebration, held Feb. 11 at St. John's High School (SJHS), are (l to r) Outstanding Youth of Shrewsbury Award recipients Kevin Harrington, a junior at SJHS, Hannah Levine, Romaine Campbell and Kelsey Giordano, seniors at Shrewsbury High School; Harry S. Cutting Jr. Award recipient Edwin “Ted” B. Coghlin Jr., his wife, Maureen (seated); and SYFS Executive Director Jeffrey Chin.

The students were recognized for demonstrating resiliency while performing community service. Coghlin was honored as an advocate of vocational education with a spirit of giving. The celebration helps raise funds to support SYFS programs for local youth and families.

The Community Advocate was the media sponsor of the event.
