Westborough – Dorothy P. (Worrall) Tinkham, 92, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, surrounded by her family, at the Kindred Transitional Care Center.
She leaves her three children, Roland A. Cole Jr. of East Bridgewater, Christine C. Mackenzie of Westborough, and Geraldine M. Raposa of Boston; her grandchildren, Vicky Cole Vacchino, Patricia Cole, Roland A. Cole III, Taryn Mackenzie Ouellette, Charles E. MacKenzie Jr. and wife Andrea, Shawn A. MacKenzie, Tawnya MacKenzie Johnson and husband Eric, and Jeffrey Marshalsea; her step-grandchildren, William, Linda, Sarah, and David Toivainen; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and her beloved nephew, Capt. A.H. Worrall and wife Helen of Florida, who were so loyal and always watching over her from afar. She also leaves her dear friends, Jean McPherson and Cassandra O”Connor, whose visits and little surprises turned lonely days into sunny ones, and Tony Murgo, whose many kindnesses included treats and chauffeuring faithful grandchildren Michael and Marie up for visits. She was predeceased by her husbands, Roland A. Cole Sr. and Frank L. Tinkham; her stepdaughter, Ruth Tinkham Toivainen; her brother, Alton H. Worrall; her sister-in-law, Glenor B. Worrall; and her nephew, George Worrall.
Mrs. Tinkham loved singing, dancing, and old-time gospel and country music. She really enjoyed playing piano and drums in younger years, and was very active in putting on variety shows at her mobile park home in Florida, where they gave her the nickname “Auntie Mame.” She was loved by many for her outgoing ways and would light up a room just by entering.
The family wishes to thank the 2nd floor staff at Kindred Care of Westborough, especially Musa and Ruth; the Westborough Senior Center; Betty Brown and the FUMC Woman's Group; and Lisa Shufflebarger and ever-faithful Pastor John W. Taylor for their uplifting visits.
A private committal service was held May 30, 2012 at Pine Grvoe Cemetery with Pastor John W. Taylor officiating.
