Westborough – Betty Ann Dewhurst, 76, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012 at Windham Terrace in Windham, N.H. She was the wife of the late Dwight W. Dewhurst.
Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Helen (Keefe) Kelliher. She was educated in Cambridge and graduated from St. John's High School. She also earned a bachelor's degree from Salem State College.
Mrs. Dewhurst was an elementary school teacher at the Hastings Elementary School in Westborough for many years, retiring in 1996.
She is survived by her five children, Maryellen O”Donnell of Hudson, N.H., Paul D. Dewhurst of Lebanon, Maine, Peter J. Dewhurst of Leominster, Susan M. Robertson of Westborough, and Beth J. Sears of Walpole; two brothers, Michael Kelliher of Silver Spring, Md. and Joseph Kelliher and his wife Pauline of Clifton Park, N.Y.; and 16 grandchildren.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter St., Milford. Burial will follow in the V.A. National Cemetery in Bourne. Calling hours are Monday, Feb. 20, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.
