Marlborough – Mark Evangelous, a former candidate for Councilor-at-Large, was arraigned on Feb. 15 on alleged voter fraud charges in Middlesex Superior Court.
According to Middlesex District Attorney Gerald Leone, Evangelous was released on personal recognizance and will next appear in court on March 14 for a pre-trial conference.
Evangelous has been charged with allegedly forging the signature of a deceased relative on an absentee ballot application before the November 2011 municipal election. On Jan. 31 he was indicted by a Middlesex County grand jury on charges of forgery, uttering, and violating absentee voting laws.
