Helping to give hope to Haiti
Northborough – Dressed for a “mismatched” theme the final day of “Spirit for Haiti,” Jan. 27, are the fundraiser's organizers: (l to r) fifth-graders Lauren Early, whose family sponsors a child in Haiti; Katelyn Reynolds, whose mother is a nurse and visits Haiti yearly; Katherine Lee and Tyler Potter. Students in kindergarten through fifth grade contributed donations each Friday in January, when they dressed according to that week's theme. Denise Murphy's fifth-grade class collected the most money, earning them an extra recess and their choice for the fourth week's theme. Students raised $2,059.50 for Partners in Development and Free the Kids.
