Paul F. Joyce, 77Hudson – Paul F. Joyce, 77, formerly of Clinton, died at his residence Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Patricia J. (Parslow) Joyce of Hudson.

Born and raised in Clinton, son of the late John E. and Myrtle (Pond) Joyce, he attended local schools and was a 1952 graduate of Clinton High School. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy. He received his Bachelor's degree in 1959 from the University of Tampa, Florida.

Mr. Joyce began his long career as a teacher in the Hudson School System. He taught English at the high school and was very involved with the students as their senior advisor. He formed the Ski Club at the high school and was instrumental in his support of the yearly Senior Musical. He retired in 1994.

He was also devoted to the Lancaster Recreation Department for many years as their director, where he was able to promote his love of basketball. He was a member of A.O.H in Clinton, a life member of the Clinton Elks, and a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson. He enjoyed skiing, vacationing in Daytona, Fla., and loved spending time at his favorite beaches with family and friends.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his four children, William Joyce of Hudson, Julie Turini and her husband Robert of Clinton, John Joyce and his wife Erica of Northborough, and Dorothy and her husband Patrick Lawlor of Dorchester. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Andrew and Melena Turini and Paul and Brenna Joyce, and his many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Francis McComber.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 2, at 9 a.m., in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery of Lancaster. Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 1, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr. Joyce may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, the Jimmy Fund Tribute Program, 1309 Beacon St., Brookline, MA 02446-9918.
