Shrewsbury Library Trustees to hold public forumShrewsbury – The Board of Library Trustees has scheduled a public forum for Monday, March 12 to hear from residents their opinions on the future of the town's library. The hearing will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the selectmen's meeting room, Carney Municipal Building (Town Hall), 100 Maple Ave. Those wishing to provide written commentary may do so via mail to the Board of Library Trustees, 609 Main Street, Shrewsbury MA 01545, or via email to Library Director Ellen Dolan at [email protected]<mailto:[email protected].

Last October, voters narrowly rejected a measure that would have approved a temporary debt exclusion of nearly $11 million to fund a portion of a proposed $18.7 million renovation and expansion at the library. If the measure had passed, the town would have been eligible to receive a $7.96 million grant from the Massachusetts Public Library Construction Program to fund the balance of the project.
