Shrewsbury – Dr. Todd A. Pizzi, owner of Shrewsbury's Modern Dentistry, now offers the most cutting edge technology in restorative dentistry at his Shrewsbury practice.

The E4D machine by D4D Technologies is the newest version of computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing dentistry. It allows dentists to install a patient's crown, onlay, or veneer in just one office visit. In the past temporary crowns were used while a ceramic crown, onlay, or veneer was produced off-site. This new technique makes the process much more convenient for patients because it means less office visits, injections, and drilling.

“We are thrilled to invest in the E4D machine,” Dr. Pizzi said. “It allows us to offer a quality of care and added convenience to our patients that set us apart from other dental providers in the area. We pride ourselves on making the patient experience as comfortable as possible while providing the highest caliber of general and cosmetic dentistry available; this new technology will aid us in upholding these high standards.”

E4D tooth restoration is groundbreaking not only due to convenience, but it's also healthier for restoring teeth. Not many years ago materials for dental restoration were limited to amalgam, gold, and other metals. The E4D method allows dentists to restore teeth using a strong tooth colored ceramic that actually bonds to the teeth and has almost exactly the same composition of natural tooth structure. To prevent cracking, this almost identical composition allows restored teeth to contract and expand as a natural tooth would.

Beyond crowns and fillings, E4D is capable of producing any single tooth restoration. Chipped or discolored teeth can be repaired with porcelain anterior crowns or veneers. Modern Dentistry now accompanies the most groundbreaking dentists that use E4D equipment to restore their patient's teeth without metal, using materials closest to their enamel and providing the highest quality restorative care.
