Second chance to order “Words”

Second chance to order “Words”Northborough – Now there's a second chance for folks who missed the 2011 deadline for adding a brick with an engraved message in front of the Northborough Senior Center, because Phase 2 of the Friendship Brickway, a special fundraiser, has been launched by the Friends of the Northborough Senior Center.
Orders are being taken for these “words to walk by,” which commemorate occasions and places, pay tribute to special people, or honor the memory of loved ones. The Friends, who dedicated the Friendship Brickway last June, have set Sunday, April 15, as the deadline to order bricks in Phase 2. Right beside the center's main entrance, the initial 84 engraved bricks were placed in a way that allows plenty of space for more bricks to be added this year, according to Carolyn Squillante, president of the Friends.

There are two easy ways to place your order: online at www.friendsofnorthboroughseniors.org or with the Friendship Brickway pamphlet available at the Senior Center reception desk. The cost is $100 per brick. For an additional donation of $20, you may order a mini-brick replica (1½” x 3″) as a keepsake of your commemorative brick.
The Friends expect the Phase 2 installation of engraved bricks to occur in the summer of 2012. As always, funds raised by the Friends support the Northborough Council on Aging and Senior Center activities. The Friends of the Northborough Senior Center are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
