Shrewsbury – Sunday, April 1, starting at noon, the 5th Annual Shrewsbury Road Scholars 5k & Fun Run will be held in Shrewsbury. All proceeds from the race will go directly to Shrewsbury's Citizens for Education Fund (CEF) to purchase classroom books and materials, and to support necessary programs and activities in the Shrewsbury Public Schools.
The race has a long history of successfully providing both a competitive, timed race for those looking for a challenge, as well as a family-oriented community activity for those looking to support the public schools.
The event will start and end at Oak Middle School, 45 Oak St. in Shrewsbury. Pre-registrations received by March 28 are $15 for adults and $10 for students under 18. Pre-registrations include a free T-shirt. T pre-entry family fee cap is $45, which includes four T-shirts. Same-day registration opens at 10 a.m. and the cost is $20 or $10 for students.
Registration forms are available online at www.shrewsburyroadscholars.org or at the Shrewsbury Parks & Recreation Department. For more information or to view a course map, log onto the race web site or contact Race Coordinator Beth McCollum at 508-841-8400.
