Pancreatic cancer weekend to benefit Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer ResearchWestborough – WTSC is hosting its third annual 5K Walk/Run and 10K Run Sunday, April 29 to benefit The Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research. Check in is at 8 a.m., with the Kids Run beginning at 9 a.m. and 5K/10K race starting at 9:30 a.m.

To kick off the weekend, the Knights of Columbus, located at 17 Willow St., Westborough, will host a “Beating the Odds” Vegas Night Friday, April 27, from 7 to 11 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person and include $30,000 of funny money chips, one raffle ticket, buffet style hors d’oeuvres, and cash bar. Join in for a fun-filled evening of roulette, black jack, craps, and poker provided by Sutton Entertainment. Additional games include LCR, a three-hole putting green, prizes, and silent auction. Music, dancing, and a Wall of Honor to celebrate loved ones affected by pancreatic cancer will round out the evening.

Pancreatic cancer will claim the lives of over 37,000 Americans this year alone. Seventy-four percent of patients die within the first year of diagnosis. This weekend in April is a chance to honor all those who are suffering with pancreatic cancer or who have unfortunately succumbed to this disease.
